We’ll hail it as the clean green printing machine with the added benefit of being able to handle high volume prints as if it has come directly from the future (well, at least until all the other manufacturers have cottoned on to it).
The Epson Stylus D120 is a stable and robust desktop printer capable of reaching a printing speed almost twice as fast as its peers made by any other number of other manufacturers. In addition, it only uses 15 Watts which equates to nearly a quarter of the electricity used by a standard light bulb.
So let’s get down to business. What features does it have that makes it so special?
- High volume printing
- Dual Black Ink System
- 2 black epson cartridges, with a total of 360 nozzles each
- 3 cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow) with a total of 59 nozzles each
- Uses the Epson Micro Peizo™ print head
- Utilises the Epson trademark DURABrite Ultra ink
- Optimised resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi
- For black & white A4 pages, prints 25 pages per minute and 37 pages per minute (depending on the quality setting you choose)
- For colour A4 pages, prints 11 pages per minute and 20 pages per minute printouts
- Prints high-detail colour photographs, in only 49 seconds
With this kind of print head, you might just find that you suddenly print more out of sheer appreciation for performance versus cost. And using quality ink, it means that each pigment is coated with a resin that makes prints both smudge and water proof and will allow you to keep them for up to two centuries (better start eating healthy, then).
We give the D120 friendly thumbs-up with a steady 8 out of 10 as far as cost and performance is concerned, you can also reduce costs further by using high quality guaranteed compatible printer ink. Like all other printers it will one day be superseded by something bigger and better, but for now it’s going on the wish list.
